ASF Chairman Asjad condemns Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s killing in Tehran attack

TORONTO: Amal Foundation Canada (AFC) Chairman Asjad Husssain Bhatti  expressed deep condolences to Haniyeh’s family and the Palestinian people, condemning all forms of terrorism, including extrajudicial killings.

“We express our sympathies to his family and the Palestinian people,” ASF chairman stated.

He said “We are deeply shocked by the timing of this reckless act, coinciding with the inauguration of the President of Iran, an event attended by several foreign dignitaries, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan Ashaq Dar,”

Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an attack in Tehran while attending the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s newly elected president.

The assassination was carried out late at night, targeting Haniyeh and his bodyguard.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, in a statement released today, stated: “Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations including extrajudicial and extraterritorial killings irrespective of the motives.”

Asjad said its latest acts constitute a dangerous escalation in an already volatile region and undermine efforts for peace.
