While the company teased as much in January, it has taken until now for it to reveal that the SLIDE will be powered by the Ryzen 7 7840U. For context, the Ryzen 7 7840U succeeds the Ryzen 7 6800U with Zen 4 CPU cores and an RDNA 3-based iGPU. Based on earlier leaks, the Radeon 780M and its 12 Compute Units (CUs) could be anywhere up to 30% faster than the Radeon 680M it replaces.
In other words, the SLIDE may deliver GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q performance levels, but the device’s cooling performance remains to be seen at this stage. Unfortunately, it is unclear when AYA NEO will deliver the SLIDE. Its 6-inch slide-out display appears unchanged though, as does its physical keyboard. In theory, the AYA NEO SLIDE could prove a good alternative to the GPD Win 4, which has run into display issues shortly after GPD started shipping Indiegogo orders.
