ICC World 2023: The schedule for ICC World Cup 2023 which will be held in India is likely to be announced today. It will be the first time that India will hold the prestigious ODI World Cup 2023 on its own.
A copy of a media invite of the occasion is doing rounds on social media. As per the media invite, the event will be held at Astor Ballroom, St. Regis, Lower Parel in Mumbai.
Reportedly, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had already sent a draft schedule to the participating nations in early June, outlining the proposed fixtures and venues for the tournament.
The delay in announcing the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule is due to many technical factors, especially a bone of contention between India and Pakistan. There is still uncertainty over Pakistan’s participation in the cricket world cup. Last month, ICC chairman Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice travelled to Pakistan to convince PCB Chief to send his players to India for the upcoming World Cup.
ICC started the World Cup trophy on Monday by sending the prestigious trophy 1,20,000 feet above the Earth before landing it at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This remarkable feat was achieved by attaching the trophy to a stratospheric balloon. The top cricketing body also shared images of the ODI World Cup trophy at the edge of Earth’s atmosphere.
The 2023 Trophy tour will be the biggest one so far and will allow fans from different cities in the world to connect with the prestigious silverware. The trophy will travel to 18 countries including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, USA, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, the United States of America and India.
India vs Pakistan World Cup 2011 semi-finals: Here’s what Virender Sehwag revealed
When we reached the dressing room Sachin Tendulkar said that we have never lost against Pakistan and we need to do the same today. Play with your hearts, and give 100 percent efforts. The results will come, even if we lose it won’t be a big deal, the big deal is reaching this stage.”
“I remember that speech and after that when we went to play we defeated Pakistan. I think they don’t perform well under pressure, like we do. In 90s they played well under pressure, but after 2000 things have changed.”
