September 13, 2024
REGINA: The Saskatchewan Party has now nominated a full slate of 61 candidates for the 2024 provincial election. The Saskatchewan Party is the first party to have all of its candidates in place for the election.
Premier Scott Moe said the Saskatchewan Party team is a strong mix of experienced MLAs and new candidates from all walks of life.
“Our candidates will be working hard between now and election day by meeting Saskatchewan voters, listening to their concerns and outlining our plan for a strong economy and a bright future,” Moe said.
“A strong and growing economy means we can make sure Saskatchewan remains the most affordable place to live in Canada. It means we can make the important investments Saskatchewan people deserve in health care, education, communities and other vital services. And it means we can never go back to the dark days of decline, loss and closures that we lived through under the NDP”
There will be 15 women and 46 men seeking election for the Saskatchewan Party. 27 of the candidates will be MLAs seeking re-election and 34 will be new candidates running to be elected for the first time.
The party also disclosed that five of its candidates have past convictions for impaired driving: Sean Wilson in 2011, Chris Beaudry in 2008, James Thorsteinson in 2003, Terry Jenson in 1994 and Scott Moe in 1992.
