Risk management company Healix International has introduced an online tool that identifies health and safety risks when travelling for business based on individual traveller profiles, the company announced on Wednesday (3 May).
The Travel Safe tool provides automated assessments of medical, logistical and security risks posed to business travellers based on individual employee profiles, relevant medical history and proposed travel itinerary.
Upon completion of a questionnaire, the tool provides travellers with an ‘instant’ risk assessment, along with advice to mitigate health and safety risks during the trip. A dedicated portal also enables employers to access a report detailing assessment outcomes for all employees using a traffic light system.
An extension of the company’s Covid Travel Safe product, which launched in 2020 to address Covid-related travel risks, the new service is said to ensure compliance with the ISO 31030 global standard for business travel riskwhich was released in September 2021.
Healix International CEO Charlie Butler said the new tool “will provide employers the ability to plan and mitigate risk, in line with the global standard, but also gives travelling employees peace of mind and the knowledge that their employer is doing all they can to protect the safety of their workforce”.
He added: “It is only with a clear understanding of which employees are more vulnerable and what threats certain locations can pose that a clear plan can be built to ensure the safety of their workforce.”
