LSG vs RCB: “Mere Se Jyada Stylish Toh Koi Hai He Nahi”

In a video that recently surfaced on the internet, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli can be seen discussing his “embarrassing” fashion sense when he was a teenager.

Arguably the most popular cricketer in the world, Virat Kohli has also gained a following for his impeccable fashion sense off the field. These factors combined make him the most followed Indian on Instagram with 246 million followers.

Although now he is a national style icon, this was clearly not the case when the 34-year-old was younger, even before his national team debut in 2008.

In a discussion with Jatin Sapru for Star Sports, Virat Kohli opened up about his bizarre fashion choices in his teen years, claiming that he had a little too much confidence in his dressing back when he was young.

“Calling it a fashion sense is a very refined term. I had corduroy pants, and they were bell bottoms, boots with high heels, and a printed shirt with big embroidery on it, and I used to think, ‘Kya lag raha hoon mai, mere se jyada stylish toh koi hai he nahi (How good am I looking, nobody is more stylish than me).’ But when I see the pictures now, my god, it is such an embarrassment,” he said.

Virat Kohli is in fine form for RCB in IPL 2023

With the first half of IPL 2023 in the books, Virat Kohli has brought his form of international cricket into the IPL. After two quiet years in the league, the Delhi-based batter currently stands second on the Orange Cap leaderboard with 333 runs in eight matches.

Scoring with an average of 47.57, Kohli, along with his opening partner Faf du Plessis, has formed the most dominant opening duo in IPL 2023.

Now that Faf is injured, and only used as an Impact sub, Virat Kohli is also back at the helm as RCB captain.

With his fine form, the former India National Cricket Team captain is set to become the first cricketer to score 7000 runs in IPL history, as he currently sits at 6957.

RCB currently sit at no.5 on the points table. They will be looking to break into the top four with a win in their next match, against Lucknow Super Giants on May 1.
