Meeting reviews options to preserve relics at Badshahi Mosque

The committee responsible for safeguarding the sacred relics at Badshahi Masjid convened under the joint chairmanship of Minister of Auqaf and Religious Affairs Barrister Azfar Ali Nasir and Punjab Information Minister Amir Mir.

During the meeting held at Badshahi Mosque, the committee members explored various options concerning the preservation of 26 holy relics.

The primary focus was on either maintaining their current location or relocating them to a more suitable alternative site. Barrister Syed Azfar Ali Nasir emphasised the significance of ensuring the utmost care for these religious treasures, similar to the exemplary arrangements made for holy blessings worldwide.

He stressed the need to employ modern scientific principles to protect and preserve these sacred relics.

In the spirit of respecting religious sentiments, Punjab’s Caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir, assured that all concerns regarding the potential transfer of the holy blessings would be taken into account. He pointed out that globally, holy relics including sacred relics are preferably kept in museums for safekeeping.

Barrister Azfar Ali Nasir further highlighted the urgent necessity of safeguarding the sacred items from any further deterioration, with a vision to bestow the blessings upon future generations.
