MTV Video Music Award 2023: Taylor Swift in testa alle nomination – Music News

Taylor Swift leads the 2023 MTV Video Music Award nominations.

There are eight merits attributed to the singer who could become the most awarded artist in the history of the VMAs, if she manages to take home at least six awards (she currently has 14 VMAs) thus beating Madonna who boasts 20.

Dominating the race are all female artists: SZA is in the running for six awards, while Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Kim Petras and Nicki Minaj are close with five nominations each.

Sam Smith also earned five nominations, while Shakira, BLACKPINK and Diddy were honored in four categories.

For the first time since the Artist of the Year category was introduced in 2017, all the nominees are women: from Swift to Doja, via Minaj, Shakira, Beyoncé and Karol G.

Swift’s hit Anti-Hero earned seven nominations: Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects and Best Direction.

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on September 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

It is not yet known who will conduct the ceremony.

Fans can visit vote.mtv.com to choose their favorite artist from 15 non-discriminatory categories.
