RCH camp underway at Mima village on April 21.
Kohima, April 23 (MExN): A Reproductive Child Health (RCH) camp at Mima village was organised by the office of Chief Medical Officer, Kohima along with District Health Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare (DoHFW), NHM on April 21.
The CMO Kohima Dr Tumchobeni in a press release stated that addressing a short function, DVBO/DSO, Dr Kevilhulie Meyase highlighted on the launching the First 1000 days campaign by DoHFW Nagaland on April 20. This campaign focuses on critical intervention like Antenatal Care (ANC), hospital delivery, vaccination and early childhood care for mother and child from pregnancy till second birthday of a child. He urged the gathering to avail all the services, participate in various group discussions for a healthy life style and practice for better health seeking behavior.
Citing about the target group where children and pregnant mothers are given priority, on the need for community participation in bringing about sustainable health care services through their participation and active contribution.
Gifts and nutritional packages were distributed to fully immunized children and pregnant mothers.
Altogether, 187 people availed health services at the Reproductive Child Health (RCH) camp. Total ANC-13, IUCD insertion-2, Eye screening-81, NCD Screening-90, Screening of ICTC-45 & 1 (ANC). Pediatrician-25, ENT-30, Dental procedure-20, Laboratory test-90, AYUSH-26, eligible couple/lactacting mothers were given counseling by Counselor (NSACS). Lab test, condom distribution and free medicines were provided. Free distribution of IEC pamphlets, leaflets were done.
The medical team was headed by DVBO/DSO, Kohima Dr Kevilhulie Meyase, DPMUs, BPMU Jakhama block, CHO I/C with Mima HWC, Dental Surgeon & MO (AYUSH) with Viswema CHC team, MO I/C with Kimipfuphe PHC team and MO I/C with Jakhama PHC team and CHO Pfuchama HWC.
