Sam Asghari breaks his silence after the end of the marriage with Britney Spears.
The actor and model released the first statements via Instagram a few hours after the announcement of the separation from the pop star.
“After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote on social media. ‘We will always have love and respect for each other. I will always wish her the best.’
A day earlier, Sam had filed for divorce from Britney, revealing that the break-up dated back to July 28, therefore about three weeks before the announcement.
‘Unfortunately these things happen. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous, so I ask everyone, including the media, to be kind and respectful,” she added.
A spokesman for Asghari has denied rumors that the dancer is attempting to dismantle the pre-nuptial agreement entered into with the pop star.
‘There are rumors that Sam is defying the pre-nuptial agreement and threatening his ex-wife with videos. All of these claims are false – there are no negative intentions towards him and never will be,” the rep explained to FOX News Digital. ‘Sam has always supported and always will support Britney’.
The two had started dating in 2016 and got married in June 2022.
