Calling the Ontario Science Centre an “attraction” is another way the Conservatives downgrade science. It suggests that educating people about climate change, physics, biology, chemistry and more is just an amusing diversion, and not an essential delivery of knowledge and awareness so crucial to our collective future.
To the provincial government amusement/ attraction venues are just businesses to attract tourists and generate revenue for the province. This attitude is an affront to universities and schools educating our youth to be scientists, engineers, professors and game changers for our economy. Little innovation can occur without knowledge of science.
