Security forces killed at least two terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) on reported presence of militants in Bara in Khyber district, the military said in a statement on Saturday.
During the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as killing of innocent citizens.
It said that sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. “Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism,” it further said.

Earlier this week, the security forces killed two terrorists in another IBO on reported presence of terrorists in Razmak, North Waziristan district.
According to a statement issued by ISPR, during the conduct of operation, security forces surrounded the terrorists’ location and after intense fire exchange, two terrorists were sent to hell.
The ISPR added that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and target killing of innocent citizens.
