Two terrorists killed in Balochistan: ISPR

At least two terrorists were killed on Sunday in retaliatory action after they attacked a military convoy in Balochistan’s Gwadar, the military’s media wing reported.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attackers used small arms and hand grenades during the activity, however, due to an efficient and swift response, two terrorists were killed with no harm to any military or civil persons.

Earlier today an operation was launched after intelligence was received confirming the presence of terrorists in the area. Resultantly, it was initially reported that one terrorist had died while three others were injured. The death toll has now been confirmed to have risen to two.

The security forces have cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation.

Zardari, Bilawal condemn attack

Meanwhile, former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari condemned the attack on the military convoy.

Expressing satisfaction over the security forces’ retaliatory action, Zardari lauded the soldiers involved in the counter-terrorism operation.

“Consider terrorists as enemies of the nation and eliminate them,” the former president said to the soldiers in his message. He further said that the attackers must be brought to justice.

Bilawal, in his statement, said that urged to identify the handlers of the attackers, commending the efforts of those taking part in the operation.

“Justice should be served to the handlers of these attackers in the court of law,” Bilawal said, adding that these terrorists cannot be forgiven.

Four terrorists killed in Bajaur

In a similar incident this morning, one Pakistan Army soldier was martyred and four terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P)’s Bajaur District.

The military’s media wing said that the army conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Charmang, Bajaur District on the reported presence of terrorists.

Earlier this week, at least t two terrorists were killed and another sustained injuries in an intelligence-based operation launched by the security forces against miscreants in Mazaband Range area of Balochistan’s Kech district.

According to the ISPR, a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered in the operation. The killed terrorists were involved in the targeting of innocent civilians and law enforcement agencies, the military’s media wing had said.

“Security Forces of Pakistan remain committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism and thwart nefarious designs of the enemies of Pakistan at all costs,” it had added.
