et your alarms! H&M’s new designer collaboration lands in stores this week, on 11th May. This time around the Swedish super-retailer has joined forces with Mugler’s Casey Cadwallader. Shrinking violets need not apply, these are pieces for those of you at home in the limelight. Whether your wardrobe is gasping for a mesh-panelled catsuit, a directional LBD or a corseted hoodie (the Mugler gal’s concession to loungewear), whatever you do: be quick. Only the fastest will triumph. hm.com.
There might have been less noise around the new interiors drop from A.P.C and sacai, but it’s no less deserving of your attention. The latest round of quilts and cushions, made by Jessica Ogden, are patchworked from surplus fabrics sourced from both brands. The only impetus we need to get an early night. (Available in store from 12th May)
It might not feel like it, it might not look like it, but summer is tantalisingly close. Still, how about some Pucci to get you in the mood? Camille Micelli’s first Pucci runway show took place during golden hour in Florence, where she showed a vitamin D drenched collection including nifty mini dresses, swishy maxi skirts and va-va-voom catsuits printed in the signature swirly psychedelic prints, against the backdrop of the Ponte Vecchio. Everything you need for a first class holiday look – even if you’re travelling in economy.
Italians do it better. And by ‘it’, you mean? Summer, of course! If Pucci wasn’t enough to set the tone, then there’s also Gucci’s Summer Stories capsule. Majoring in escapist, jet-set glamour the collection includes swimwear, sandals and hero bags – including the Jackie 1961 and Horsebit 1955 – recharged with woven raffia details. Serve with an Aperol Spritz, obviously.
Surprise, surprise (not). Following last week’s Met Gala, marking the opening of Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, resale platform Vestiaire Collective has reported an increase in searches for brands related to the designer including Chloé and Fendi. Also surging? Interest in his namesake brand. Global orders for Karl Lagerfeld were +48% compared to last month, with searches increasing by 120%. No stats yet on the buzz around cat costumes. vestiairecollective.com.
The hand-luggage-only brigade already heavily rely on London-based, globally-outlooking SMR Days for their warm weather wardrobes (read relaxed tailoring and meticulously embroidered shirts). Now, they have added a finishing touch to your going places look, launching sunglasses in collaboration with PRISM, a brand that shares SMR Days’ wanderlust perspective. The collection includes three styles, The Ibiza, The Mykonos and The St Tropez, classics reloaded for now with luxe details. A very good idea, for home or away. smrdays.com.
Swimwear season is coming, which means two things: yay – and also eek. Hunza G’s signature ‘one size fits most’ crinkled bikinis and bathing suits are one way to dial down the hassle factor (we love the mix and match bikins, ’80s-in-a-good-way neon hues and super high rise briefs). Now, you can find your perfect fit IRL as the brand has just opened a pop-up store on Seven Dials. Expect exclusive styles, expert advice, and everything you need to make a splash this summer. 35-37 Monmouth Street, Covent Garden.
And while you’re down in Covent Garden, make a pitstop to the brand new Uniqlo and Theory co-store. Stock up on the hit £15 crossbody and hunt down any remaining pieces from the excellent JW Anderson collaboration (Uniqlo), then get thee to Theory below, for excellent wardrobe essentials (basics for the woman who is anything but, and some of the best tees in the biz). Plus, if all that retail exertion gets a little tiring, there’s a café in store to for a refuel pitstop. 19 – 21 Long Acre, Covent Garden
